This began with a question that turned out to be hard to answer: how many streets are there in Cherry Hill? It is not a number anyone publishes. The answer came from the state’s own road inventory, counted one by one. There are 1,186.

The same records hold every property line in the township and the elevation of every foot of ground. All of it public, and none of it drawn as anything you would want on a wall.
